OpenGlyph is an independent, non-profit community resource. This page makes our relationship to other organisations completely clear. In short: we reference open standards and we respect everyone’s trademarks — we’re not affiliated with any of them.
Independent & non-profit
Everything on OpenGlyph.org is created and maintained by our own community. We are not endorsed by, sponsored by, or partnered with any platform, vendor or standards body.

Trademarks & artwork
Emoji artwork — the actual pictures — is created and owned by individual vendors such as Apple, Google, Microsoft, Samsung and others, and is protected by their copyrights and trademarks. Platform names and game names are trademarks of their respective owners. We describe and reference them for education only; we don’t reproduce or sell their artwork.

Unicode & standards
We explain and link to the Unicode Consortium, the SIL Open Font License and Creative Commons because they define the open standards behind glyphs. Referencing a standard is not affiliation with the organisation that maintains it.
What this means
- OpenGlyph is: an independent community, an open reference and library, run by its maintainers.
- OpenGlyph is not: endorsed by Unicode, affiliated with any emoji vendor, or selling vendor artwork.
