Terms of use

Last updated 25 June 2026 · OpenGlyph Editorial

These plain-language terms govern your use of OpenGlyph.org, a free, open, non-profit community resource. By using the site you agree to them. This is a community policy, not a substitute for professional legal advice.

Acceptance

If you browse, copy from, or contribute to OpenGlyph, these terms apply to you. If you don’t agree, please don’t use the site.

Acceptable use

You may browse and copy freely, and reuse content according to its license. Please don’t:

  • Claim that any glyph is “100% safe” or guarantee account safety — we make no such promises.
  • Misuse trademarks or vendor artwork (non-affiliation & trademarks).
  • Scrape, overload, disrupt or attempt to break the service.

Content & licensing

Reuse of content is governed by content licensing — Creative Commons for community text, the relevant open license (e.g. SIL OFL) for fonts. Respect attribution where required.

Your contributions

When you submit content you confirm it’s original or properly licensed, and you grant the license described in how to contribute. Submissions are reviewed against the community guidelines before publishing.

Disclaimer

OpenGlyph is provided “as is,” in good faith, for everyone. Glyph rendering depends on your device and fonts and may vary; we verify what we can (see how we curate & verify) but can’t guarantee how every platform displays every character. To the extent permitted by law, we’re not liable for losses arising from use of the site.
